Our Club shares the vision of empowering the Garifunas and Afro Latinos in general with investing
knowledge.
We avidly believe that Garifuna and Afro Latino communities of the United States wield enormous
economic power. The challenge continues to be for the community to pool their resources together
to make strong plays into new venues.
In our case, pooling our resources has allowed us to move into real estate and we are now
making a strong play into our native country of Honduras by using the proceed of our investments to
develop job-creating tourism projects in our Atlantic-coast hometowns. We seek to leverage
remittances to boost economic development by expanding our bi-national approach and
channeling remittance more effectively and productively.
We believe that the stock market, with its limitless potential for high growth and high earnings, is
one of the frontiers that we as Afro Latinos can conquer. With the wealth of knowledge at our
fingertips, there is no reason why we should not be making forays into the investing panorama.
The well being of a people and their positive participation in the changing world environment is
based on the community’s economic development. Economic development is the result of the
exploitation of resource by individuals with entrepreneurial skills. We believe that to achieve
economic development, we should exploit our transnational ties, as we pursue our objective of
being leaders of the next phase of civil rights: “Silver Rights”, the financial empowerment
movement of the Garifuna and Afro Latino communities.
